Pastor said, don't forget to take out the trash!

What a wonderful application to the things that we have to do in the house and in our souls. Read 2Chr 28,29 and 30 and see how the cleaning up of the temple lead to the joy of the Lord. It is the same in our houses. When we are preparing to celebrate it is truly a time to cleanse the leaven and the dirt and the mess out of our houses and our souls. Thankfulness and joy replaces the mess and grudges that we sometimes harbor. Halleluia for a season of cleansing and care. Take out the trash, my son.

Beware of Strange Ice, my boy!

Traditions that we pass on are the most stubborn bad habits to break. The things that we have taught you and shown you in our own bad habits are strange ice. God condemns that we should disobey Him in deference to our parents. Don't follow me, sonny, where I am not obeying the Word of God. Obey the Lord and scrutinize and listen to God even above Mommy. Love you precious.

The Word of God alone and not what mother teaches if it doesn't square with the Word of God. Pay attention and listen and respect but not so much that you get stuck in the ice of traditions that don't square.

What a good time we had in the store bantering around about the invention of electricity.

Benjamin Franklin did not invent electricity, God did. He discovered it's harnessing. I said that I think that he could have lost his life and that it really wasn't a wise thing to go flying a kite with a key in a lightning storm. That is progress, Mother, you insisted. That is the way the lightbulb was created and every other worthwhile thing. Something like that is worth the risk of life and limb, was your allusion. I understand and I agree, although I won't let you fly a kite with a key on it until you are, at least 11.
